Plant Seed Mucilage—Great Potential for Sticky Matter

چکیده

Some seeds of flowering plants can differentiate their seed coat epidermis into the specialized cell layer producing a hydrophilic mucilage with several ecological functions, such as hydration, protection, spatial fixation, stimulation metabolic activity and development seed. Due to species- genotype-dependent variabilities in chemical composition mucilage, does not display same functional properties its role depends on respective species environment. Mucilaginous substances, depending composition, exhibit many preventive curative effects for human animal health, which has significant potential agricultural, food, cosmetic pharmaceutical industries. This paper summarizes ecological, biological, mucilaginous plant substances highlights nutritional terms foods, nutraceuticals dietary supplements. A paragraph describing gene regulation synthesis is included, some recommendations direction further research are outlined.
